Jan. 26, 1887 Condolence Letter from John Flannery of Savannah, GA

Savannah, Georgia businessman John Flannery wrote John F. Armstrong this letter of condolence on 26 January 1887. Born in County Tipperary, Ireland in 1835, Flannery immigrated to the US in 1851. He eventually settled in Savannah, where he became a wealthy businessman. He served in the Irish Jasper Greens during the Civil War.

In the letter, Flannery wrote that he had learned of the death of Sarah McAndrew Armstrong from papers he had received from JF the day before.
