Jan. 29, 1887 Letter From John J. Teevins of So. Boston, MA
February 21, 2018
John J. Teevins wrote John F. Armstrong this letter from So. Boston, Massachusetts on 29 January 1887. It is unclear how the two men knew each other, but it was probably through an Irish fraternal organization. Teevins had been born in Ireland and addressed JF as “Dear Bro. Armstrong” and closed the letter with “I Remain Yours Fraternally, John J. Teevins”. They may have met through the Hibernians, the Irish National League of America, or the Clan na Gael, all national organizations to which JF belonged.
